On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, the German-Greek Kindergarten “Saint Basil the Great” of the Greek Orthodox Parish of Hanover had the distinct blessing and honor of welcoming two distinguished representatives of the Church and the Hellenic Republic: His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kydonies and the Consul General of Greece in Hamburg, Mr. Ioannis Vikelidis. Their presence highlighted the importance of the work being carried out at the kindergarten and strengthened the ties between the parish and the institutions that support Hellenism in the Diaspora.
The distinguished guests were given a comprehensive tour of the kindergarten facilities, where they had the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into its educational program, teaching methods, and the vision that guides the work of its staff.
